The provisionally patented layout of Audio Dementia is straightforward to understand and use. The basic concept of this technology is that every track in a song has an icon on the stage area that represents its volume and pan with respect to a central icon on the stage. To change the volume or pan, just click and drag the track icon to the point on the stage that you wish to place it. It is important to remember that this position is also relative to the timeline so that each track can have multiple points consecutively connected by a corresponding path color.
Since the application has two modes (stereo and surround sound), there is a sound stage that is unique to each mode. The stereo sound stage is basically one half circle with the center of the circle being the focal point. All Tracks are mixed relative to the focal point, which is the center of the circle.
The surround sound stage is more complicated than the stereo version, since more possible relative positions are required. The biggest difference is that instead of using half circles it requires a full circle. However, all tracks are still mixed relative to the focal point, which is the center of the circle.
